Coltons first easter was very fun... we went on an easter egg hunt.. of course Daddy had to help.. but Colton was able to reach and pick them up and try to eat them! :o)  It was a fun day of Celebrating the resurection of our Lord.

Colton's first appointment @ 05:00:00

We just got back from our six week appointment.. well.. not quite six weeks... we made it at eight weeks.   Colton is very healthy... a whopping 15 lb. 10 oz  and 24 5/8 inches long.  He is such a good baby.   He is now sleeping three or four hours at a time during the night.  So that is great!   My midwife told me that when Moms are calm and relaxed that the babies are usually calm and easy going too, which really seems to be true with Colton.  He is smiling ALL the time now.. it's so fun and exciting.  He is such a joy.  Grandma Hewitt wants you all to know that this is her very favorite picture of Colton!  Isn't he cute???

5th appointment

Well, just had another appointment.. but this time it was with Rebekah Knapp, my new midwife in MN. 

Everything went well... baby's heart beat was 144 bpm.  I measured smaller @ 27 cm... because the baby was transverse in the womb.    I have been continuing to gain weight :p ugghh... but I won't tell you how much.... :o)

Sean will be here tomorrow night and we are sooooooooooo excited to see each other.  It's been the longest two and a half weeks ever!!!!  We decided never to be apart again :o)   They had to pick up a horse in Washington this morning.   Tomorrow he is dropping the horse off in ND and then it's only four more hours until they get to the ranch.   Sean's good friend, Will is along and they are taking turns driving, that way they don't have to stop at night.  We are very excited  that Sean's dad, Eric is with them as well...  and will be going to Cody's wedding with us in Missouri next week.   Should be fun!  We can't wait!

Last appointment in California @ 11:00:00

Hello everyone!!!  Well, today I went in for my last appointment before heading to Minnesota.  Both my midwife and doula were very pleased with how things were going.  Baby is in the head down position already and should stay there.... they figure the baby now weighs about three pounds. I am measuring 29 1/2 cm  at 28 1/2 weeks gestation.  The baby's heartbeat is now 136 bmp.  Which went down from 140 last month. They also checked my hemoglobin again and said it was perfect at 11.5     I loaded some more pictures so you can see how big I am now  :o)

Third appointment
Hey everyone... sorry it's been awhile since I have updated you all. Well, two weeks ago I had my last appointment.  Everything went really well.  We had a great visit with the midwife and doula. The baby's heart beat went down a bit to 140 bpm @ 23 weeks..... last time I was 157 @ 18 weeks and the time before that was 160 @ 13 weeks.  I was measuring exactly 23 1/2 cm. so for 23 weeks.. that is perfect.   

 

Also... I am flying back to Minnesota in three weeks and Sean is driving two weeks later with our horses.  No we are not moving... just visiting for the summer and will be back here the end of August or beginning of September.  I know several people were confused on that... so that's our story. :o)

08.04 2006 (Age -1 & 7 months)

Second appointment w/midwife
We had a wonderful appointment.. got to hear the baby's heartbeat for

the second time. First time it was 160 bpm. Supposedly... girls are fast and boys are slow. This time it was 156 bpm.  Mom says all her girls were around 160 or higher.... soooooooo even though people say going by the heartbeat isn't all that accurate.. I am leaning towards believing that it is a girl.  But we would be very excited to have a boy as well.   Sean asked Marlene (midwife) if there were twins would she know already.. and she said yes, I would have already been measuring much bigger.  I was 18 weeks at this appointment and was measuring at exactly 18 cm. They were really impressed at how healthy I was.  My weight gain is perfect... my hemoglobin was right on at about 12.  Also, I took a blood test at the lab the week before to find out my blood type and I am B+ which is also great because Sean is A+.  Anyway... next appointment is April 8th. So, check back to see if our heartbeat is still fast!!!! Can't wait.

the big barn for the reception and barn dance.

It was so much fun that most people stayed until 1:00 am!

Home Birth
Sean and I have decided to have our baby at home in Minnesota with a different

midwife (Rebekah Knapp). She is the same midwife that is delivering my sister Katrice's

baby (due April 29th). We decided to try a water birth... but

things could change depending on what's comfortable at the time. We decided to go to

Minnesota to have the baby so that my whole family can be there and be involved.

Otherwise there are way too many Hewitts to make it all the way to California!

Anyway... I'll share the whole birth story in August after our precious baby has arrived!

We can't wait!
