Diary
Here I am, World!
Due Date: July 20, 2007Arrival Date: July 19, 2007 (punctual like her Daddy!)
Delivery Stats: At "Les Bluets" hospital in Paris's 12th arrondissement. The birth was attended by a midwife, Sabine. I was born at 9:45pm and weighed 3,2 kg (7,1 lbs) and measured 50cm (19.5 inches). I came out with lots of hair! I hardly cried at all and I rested in Mommy's arms while I got to know her and Daddy.
I look like: At first, Mommy thought I looked just like Daddy. Now everyone thinks that I have mommy's eye shape (color is still undetermined!) and I definitely have a dimple in my chin like Mommy. But I have Daddy's nose, his face shape, his lips, and even his feet!
How I got my name: It took Mommy and Daddy a few days to decide!
They chose Eléanor for several reasons. Eléa, which is what everyone calls me, is the name of the heroine of René Barjavel's book The Ice People (La Nuit des Temps). She is an intelligent, beautiful woman who is chosen to carry on the future of humanity in the face of an apocalypse, but she'll only do it if she can stay with her true love. A great read! The Arabic name "Noor" means light. The historic significance of Eleanor /Alienor/Eleonor also pleased them, so it became my name!
Effie is Mamina's name (paternal grandma). Alice is a family name from Mommy's side of the family, and it is Grandmommy's middle name, Great-Grandma's name, and her Grandmother's name.
Nicknames: Jellybean, Jelly-woman- basically any derivitive of Jelly! And of course, now Mommy is Peanut butter :). Also, Ellie-belly, stinker, boogerbear, and as of recent- Pinapple Head (due to the formation of her hair falling out!).
