This is the story of how I grew in mummy's tummy

1/11/2006

Mummy and Daddy found out mummy was pregnant on 1st November 2006.  They were very very excited.  Mummy found it very difficult not to tell everyone about me but managed to keep it a secret for a little while.

Mummy's first appointment with the midwife was on 16th November 2006 it was a bit of a boring appointment and was justs spent filling in lots and lots of forms !!.  I was 7 weeks old.

11/12/2006

Mummys next appointment was to have her ultrasound scan where she and daddy seen me for the very first time.  They were very happy to see my little heart beat on the monitor and were told that I could be expected to arrive on 12th July 2007.  They had lots of photos of me to keep as a momento too.  The sonographer told them I was actually only 9 weeks and 2 days old (they put me back by 1 week because of my size) (see pics in album)

Mummy and Daddy first heard my heartbeat when I was 14 weeks old at the midwife appointment it was lovely and was making a very loud fast drumming noise.  This is when mummy started feeling me moving too, she says it was like little butterflies in her tummy.

At 16 weeks mummy had more blood samples taken from her and had blood tests for downs & spina bifida.  They were very pleased when the results came back at a low risk of 1:5300 chance of me being born with this problem.

16/02/2007

At 19 weeks mummy had another Ultrasound scan at the hospital where I was wriggling all over!, the sonographer showed mummy & daddy all my organs and they found out that im a little girl, which they were very happy about.  (see pics in album).

08/03/2007

I was 22 weeks when Daddy felt me Kick for the very first time he was very happy although I was being a little bit awkward and kept stopping every time he put his hand on mummys tummy ha ha !.

12/04/2007

Im 27 weeks old now and am kicking mummy all of the time, I really dont like it when she puts the television remote control on my tummy and try to kick it off ! I like being in the bath though when mummy splashes water on her tummy I have a kick and wriggle around.  Ive had a lovely week this week as its been easter and Nanny & Bampy came to visit, mummy was eating lots of easter eggs which were yummy. Daddy spent the weekend away in Poland with the rugby lads.  I also had a lovely easter teddy bear for my nursery from my friends Ben and Josh who live next door to me.  My nursery is all finished now and is very pretty I am looking forward to sleeping in my lovely cot.

26/04/2007

Im 29 weeks now, mummy had a little scare yesterday and had to visit the hospital as there was a little bit of blood !, she got a good checking over and listened to my heartbeat and movements for about 2 hours then I had another scan to check I was growing nicely in mummys tummy.  Im approximately 3lbs already and have very long legs which are off the scale! im currently measuring 2 weeks ahead so I think im going to be a big baby around 9lbs !!! mummy  isnt looking forward to pushing me out now ;)  The lady who scanned me also confirmed she is 99.9% sure I am deffinately a little girl no doubt about it so I cant wait until I can wear all the pretty dresses mummy & daddy have bought for me already and to see my lovely pink nursery.

19/05/2007

I am now 32 weeks old, Mummy had an appointment with the midwife again on friday, for the last 2 weeks ive decided to be a little awkward and have spun right around and now im sitting upright.  The midwife told Mummy & Daddy this is the breech position and I have until week 36 to turn around and be head down ready to enter the world!.  If I am still bottom first mummy will get to see me again on the scan machine and the doctors will probably decide to bring me out via the sunroof !! in other words a cesarean !, I dont think mummy is bothered about which way im born as long as im safe and well.   To be honest I quite like being sitting upright its much more comfy for me its a nice change from being upside down all the time !!,  although mummy isnt too happy that my head is wedged under her rib all the time.  Its a bit uncomfortable for her.

1/06/2007

34 weeks old now, and guess what....... im still the wrong way up, only 2 more weeks until mummy has a hospital appointment and they will decide whether or not mummy has to have a cesarean section her appointment is on 14th June!, so not long now. Least mummy & daddy will get to see me again on the scanning machine to confirm if I am really breech, and then hopefully it wont be long until they meet me in real life.  The midwife told mummy today that I would be delivered around 38-39 weeks if I dont decide to turn around so I could either be born the end of June or begining of July.

My lovely new pram also arrived today, daddy was like a big kid with a new toy and has been wheeling it around the living room messing mummys nice rug up on the floor ha ha!.  Daddy now feels confident in dismantling the pram and folding it down and even had a go of putting the carseat in the car.  I cannot wait to have a little ride around in it, it looks so comfy and cosy.

14/06/2007

36 weeks old today.  Mummy had a hospital appointment today and guess what...... ive done everyone proud and have done a complete summersault and am now head down (I dont know if I like being upside down all the time though but everyone is happy so I think I should stay this way!!) The consultant at the hospital thought my head was my bottom ! charming eh, so decided to get the portable scanning machine in just to double check and there I was looking at everyone upside down the uncomfortable feeling mummy has been getting under her rib cage is my bottom !!.  Mummy had more blood samples taken I think she will be glad when she doesnt have to be a pin cushion any more!.  The doctor was very happy with my progress and doesnt want to see me or mummy until im ready to come into the world.  She also said I was 5/5 engaged so hopefully in the next couple of weeks I will drop down a bit more and be ready to join all my family and friends in the big wide world.  I really cannot wait to get lots of cuddles and kisses.

27/06/2007

37 +5 weeks -Mummy woke up early hours this morning with contractions which were coming every 10 minutes apart, but they stopped at 10am which made mummy frustrated!! but they started again at 11pm !!

28/06/2007

38 weeks today.  Mummys contractions started again at 11pm last night she woke up at 12pm and had a nice warm bath to try and ease them but it didnt really help !, so she told daddy at 1.30am that she thought she was in labour.  4am mummy phoned the hospital as her contractions were coming every 6 minutes and were very painful.  She went to the hospital at 5am and was checked over but was only 1cm dialated so they sent mummy and daddy home and said to come back if they got closer together .  Mummy sent daddy to work today and phoned him at 2pm to come home as her contractions were getting closer together and more painful.  They went to the hospital at 3pm but things still were not progressing the midwife decided to keep mummy in for the night to get some rest before I arrived as mummy was exhausted from two days of pain.  Mummy had a needle in her bottom at 10pm to help the pain and daddy went home to get some sleep.  At 1045 the sack which has been protecting me for 9 months broke and there was water all over the bed !!! it made a bit of a mess :) the midwife came and checked mummy over again and she was 4cm so was officially in labour and moved to the labour ward.  They phoned daddy to come back to the hospital.

29/06/2007

12 oclock midnight and the anaethetist arrived to give mummy an epidural in her back, they took 4 attempts to put it in as I kept making mummy have contractions so they had to take the needle out of mummys back each time.  They finally got the epidural in mummys back and daddy said mummy was completely chilled out within 10 minutes of having it haha.  At 3am mummy felt like she needed to push me out so told the midwife who said I was ready to come out but told mummy to have a bit of a rest before hand to build some energy up.  Our midwife Carole came back in at 4.30am and told mummy to push with the next contraction. After 31 minutes of pushing I was  born and let out a big cry.  In fact I started crying as soon as  my head was born and my body was still inside mummy.  The midwife told mummy and daddy this was very rare and there was not many babies who cry before they are actually born.

501am I arrived into the world mummy and daddy cried when I was born.  They put me onto mummys tummy and I was all slippery :) Daddy then phoned all the family to tell them I had arrived safely.

So thats my story of how I grew in mummys tummy keep checking my milestones, progress and photo album for updates.
