Jackson's Arrival

Well the big day has come and gone.  We checked into the hospital at 1am Monday morning.  I was feeling a little "off" that evening and when we checked in and got hooked up to the monitors, I had been having contractions and didn't even know it.  We did our paperwork and attempted to get sleep from 1am until 6am, but we had no luck.At 6 am, they started my rounds of petosin.  As they steadily upped the doses, my contractions kicked in.  Doctor Allen came in at one point and broke my water.  Around 3 o'clock that afternoon, it was "baby time".  Due to my epidural being so strong, my pushing wasn't the "correct" way of pushing so they cut me off.After 2.5 hours of hard continuous actual labor, our baby boy finally arrived at 6:12pm.  He weighed 7lbs 15 oz and was 21" long.  His hair is reddish-brown and he has big blue eyes and chubby chubby cheeks!  He entered the world to the presence of his parents and his loving grandparents (Grammie, Grampie, Nana, and Gaffer).This afternoon we were released from the hospital and spent our first evening at home.  While the grandparents ran errands, we were doing our honeydo's around the house.  While changing him, we had our first "experience" with our little boy peeing sky high and all over the wall.  We both got quite a giggle over it.  We definetely have a long way to go to being perfect parents, but we're workin' on it.We have added some pictures to the photo album and will continue to do so over the course of the next few weeks.We also wanted to announce the BIG WINNER OF THE RICHMOND BABY SHOWER BABY POOL.  Congrats to Niki Ward.  Her guess was the closest to the actual time of delivery and she wasn't too far off on all of her other "measurements".  (June 23rd, 2:50pm, 19 and 1/2 inches long, 6lbs 4 oz., and a boy).  You're big winner's prize will be in the mail soon.Thanks to everyone who sent warm wishes and came by the hospital.  The flowers were beautiful and Jackson is lucky to have so many fun visitors.  If anyone would like to swing by the house to take a peek, feel free :)
